Our story begins on the fields of Arizona State University in 2019 with Former Head Coach of FC Arizona and MSC ASU (the Men’s Soccer Club at ASU) Ale Aguilar—a former Costa Rica national team player—and Former President of MSC ASU Elias Ocaño. Together, Ale and Elias led the Sun Devils to their first national appearance in 2023 since 1999, establishing a culture rooted in competitive excellence, player development, and inclusivity.
That vision aligned naturally with Jamie Landreman, former owner of FC Arizona, one of the largest youth soccer organizations in the region, with hundreds of youth teams and a long-standing semi-professional program. Jamie’s experience building and leading a comprehensive youth-to-semi-pro pathway, combined with shared values around access, development, and opportunity, helped shape the foundation and competitive direction of Tempe Inferno CF.
From the beginning, our guiding principle has been “no player left behind.” We believe financial barriers should never prevent a talented player from pursuing their dream. Tempe Inferno CF was founded as a non-profit to provide adult and college-age players high-level opportunities while giving back to the community. Our youth clinics and camps operate as charitable programs, prioritizing accessibility for underserved and low-income players, helping them build skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of the game.
We are committed to fostering a soccer culture in Tempe that inspires players, connects the community, and creates pathways for the next generation—regardless of background or resources.
